Im konkreten Fall ist es das Kleinwasserkraftwerk in Unterzeiring, das zum Gegenstand der „Klangforschung“

wird. Die Grazer Künstlerin, Musikerin und Komponistin Reni Hofmüller spielt mit einem Cellobogen auf Metall,

Drähten oder drahtähnlichen Objekten, nimmt das Klangmaterial „live“ mit Hilfe von Kontaktmikrophonen

auf – es werden ausschließlich Klänge verwendet, die vor Ort zu finden sind – und erläutert dem Publikum ihre

Kompositionsprinzipien. Reni Hofmüller: „Die zentrale Idee dabei ist: Die Möglichkeit zu diesen Klängen ist

schon da, man muss sich nur darauf konzentrieren und sie suchen.“ Die spezifischen Klänge des Unterzeiringer

Wasserkraftwerks und der Film, der dabei in Zusammenarbeit mit Nicole Pruckermayr entsteht, werden im

Frühjahr 2010, im zweiten Teil des Projektes, an den Aufnahmeort zurückgeführt und in Form von Video-Klang-

Miniaturen am, im und um das Wasserkraftwerk installiert.

In this particular case, it is the small hydroelectric power station in Unterzeiring that becomes the subject of

“sound research”. Graz-based artist, musician and composer Reni Hofmüller plays metal, wires or wire-like

objects with a cello bow, records the sound material “live” with the aid of contact microphones – using only

sounds found on site – and explains her compositional principles to the audience. Reni Hofmüller: The central

idea is this: “The possibility of these sounds is already there, you just have to concentrate and look for them.”

The specific sounds of the hydroelectric power station in Unterzeiring and the film shot in cooperation with

Nicole Pruckermayr will be returned to the recording site and installed in and around the hydroelectric power

station in the form of video-sound miniatures in spring 2010, in the second part of the project.
